Footlight Players believes theatre can happen anywhere — around dinner tables, beneath string lights, inside beautifully decorated ballrooms, at community celebrations, in senior living centers, and in spaces where audiences least expect to discover a little Broadway magic.
At its heart, Footlight Players is theatre reimagined: we bring the show to you!
Footlight Players was created from one simple idea: what if theatre didn’t have to live inside one building? What if live performances could happen anywhere?
That is what Footlight Players is all about.
Inspired by the spirit of vaudeville and classic live entertainment, Footlight Players brings live performances to the places where people already gather!
Sometimes that means a fast-paced variety show filled with music, comedy, and unforgettable characters. Sometimes it means an interactive improv show. Sometimes it means a vintage supper club, a cabaret, a holiday celebration, or a themed event where live theatre unfolds all around the audience. And sometimes...it means something much bigger.
No two Footlight experiences are exactly alike — and that is part of the magic.
Pull up a chair and join the conversation. Footlight Unscripted is the official podcast of Footlight Players, where theatre, creativity, storytelling, and community take center stage. Each week, we'll share behind-the-scenes stories, interviews with artists, conversations about the creative process, upcoming projects, and the occasional theatrical rabbit trail. Whether you're a performer, director, theatre lover, lifelong creative, or simply someone who enjoys a good story, there's always a seat waiting for you.
Some episodes will make you laugh. Some might inspire you.
A few may even convince you to audition for that show you've been thinking about. So grab your coffee, take a lunch break, and join us every Friday at noon as we celebrate the people, stories, and magic that bring the arts to life.
Because the best conversations happen when the script gets tossed aside.
